University research and development work is highly diverse and must respond to the rapidly changing industrial competition environment and technological development trends. In order to comprehensively enhance the overall level of the campus’s software and hardware facilities, the university integrated shared laboratories across various departments and established the TSING HUA LAB through the creation of interdisciplinary research centers to secure long-term, large-scale research projects.
The TSING HUA LAB was completed and put into operation in 2018, with the highest-level clean rooms and laboratory process spaces in the country’s academic and research institutions. Currently, the laboratory hosts units such as the Center for Nanotechnology, Materials Science, and Microsystems, the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, the Brain Research Center, the Biomedical Science and Engineering Center, the High Entropy Materials Center, as well as academic-industry research units from fields like life sciences, chemical engineering, and chemistry. The laboratory provides the necessary space, shared equipment, and administrative support for research teams, thereby enhancing the overall quality of research and teaching, increasing the number of industry-academia collaborative projects, and moving towards the goal of becoming a world-class university.
