National Tsing Hua University Talent Development Fund Academic Research Award Application Notice
Subject: "2025 National Tsing Hua University Talent Development Fund Academic Research Award" will open for applications on October 9, 2025. Eligible faculty members (including those on secondment or on unpaid leave) are invited to apply through the system within the application period specified by their respective colleges.
Instructions:
i. The targets for this award are as follows: *Categories 1 to 7: Each college establish its own award criteria and corresponding scoring system. For the sixth category, which focuses on University-defined academic indicators, this year's award areas are "Sustainability", "US Patents" and "Total number of citations of faculty publications in Scopus from 2020 to 2024." The period for considering achievements is basically from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
Please note that the publication date for papers should be based on the official release date. Academic research outcomes rewarded by this regulation must affiliate with our university as the academic institution. Multi-year international indicators (e.g., H-index, FWCI, CNCI, etc.) are not limited to research achievements completed under the university's affiliation. *Category 8: "Other significant contributions beneficial to the University's academic reputation, research, or development" is to reward the research project with a budget exceeding 15 million NTD executed in 2024. (A project attributed to faculty members solely by virtue of their administrative position or in name only is not eligible.) The project must have a start date within the period from January 1 to December 31, 2024. (In the case of multi-year projects, applications must be based exclusively on the budget for the applicable year.) (Eligible faculty members should submit their application in response to the last question on the application system.)
iii. Due to the upgrade and transition of the Knowledge Hub system, the original automatic update feature for publications has been temporarily suspended. Currently, the Scopus publication list data must be maintained manually. After the system upgrade is completed, the existing data, which has been diligently maintained by faculty members, will be transferred into the new system to ensure the maximum continuity and integrity of user data. During this transitional phase, the library will provide the following support measures: *The library will provide each college with a list of Scopus publications for the period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, by September 25, 2025. Colleges are requested to inform faculty members to review and claim their publications. Faculty members should return the claimed data directly to the library’s email address, khub@my.nthu.edu.tw, no later than October 16, 2025. The library will then import the claimed data into the Knowledge Hub system. *The user manual can be downloaded from the following URL. Users may update the data manually themselves or authorize others to do so: https://www.lib.nthu.edu.tw/research/khub.html * Knowledge Hub FAQ Related Information: https://www.lib.nthu.edu.tw/use/faq/q_a14.html
iv. The application system is seamlessly integrated with the Library Knowledge Hub system, and we encourage you to update your personal research achievement data in the Knowledge Hub system (Academic Information System / Other Systems on Campus / Knowledge Hub) at your earliest convenience.
v. The university-level review committee is expected to meet in mid-December, the results will be finalized in January 2026, and the award will be disbursed in February.
